Balance Hall

The Balance Hall program is designed to provide the community with healthier, more balanced meals. Healthy eating helps reduce the risk of heart disease and diabetes, and helps the body maintain energy and weight. The goal is to motivate people to change their eating habits for healthier ones.

In the Hall of Balance, people are invited to partake in a buffet of balanced and nutritious foods. Participants learn about the importance of diet and how a poor diet affects us. At the end, they receive pamphlets with more information on how to eat a balanced diet at home.

Stress-Free Wednesdays

The Stress-Free Wednesdays program is designed to help people take a break and dedicate time to themselves. Knowing how to manage stress helps with depression, anxiety, and sleep problems. Participants of the Stress-Free Wednesdays programs have no worries. They are able to enjoy themselves in the company of others of by themselves.

In this program, we do various activities such as painting, journaling, knitting, and reading. This activities are designated to distract participants from any worries they may have. It also includes a presentation on ways to manage everyday stress.

The Importance of Movement

Our Move for Growth program is designed to encourage people to walk more in their daily lives. The goal is to show people the benefits of having daily physical activity in their lives even if it is just walking. Studies show that walking helps reduce heart disease, joint pain, improves mood, and helps maintain weight.

The Move for Growth program holds weekly competitions that revolve around physical activities. People that want to participate are given a watch that tracks down their number of steps. By the end, those with the highest number of steps are given prices such as bracelets, shirts, and gift cards. All age groups are allowed to participate.
